Privacy Policy - IELTS-Self Effective date: 10 August 2026 Last updated: 10 August 2026 IELTS-Self (“the App”) is an independent educational application developed and published by Zo Entertainment. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how information is handled when you use IELTS-Self. IELTS-Self is designed primarily as an offline self-study application. Most learning activities and study data remain on your device. The App does not require users to create an account or sign in. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be accessed, stored, collected, or shared when you use the App. 1. Information You Provide and Store on Your Device IELTS-Self allows you to perform study activities including vocabulary learning, Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking practice. Information generated through these activities may include: vocabulary progress and study history; answers to practice exercises; saved or bookmarked vocabulary; Writing practice drafts and responses; Speaking practice audio recordings; study statistics and progress information; application preferences and settings; and backup or restore data created by the user. This study information is primarily stored locally on your device. IELTS-Self does not operate a hosted study account or cloud backend for storing your personal learning progress, Writing responses, or Speaking recordings. These items are not automatically uploaded to servers operated by us. 2. Speaking Recordings and Microphone Access IELTS-Self may request permission to access your device microphone for Speaking practice. Microphone access is used only when you choose to start a Speaking recording. The App does not intentionally record audio in the background. Speaking recordings are stored in the App's private local storage on your device and are not uploaded to a server operated by IELTS-Self. Microphone permission is optional. You may continue using other study features without granting microphone access. You can revoke microphone permission at any time through your Android device settings. 3. Advertising and Google AdMob IELTS-Self is a free application and displays advertisements using Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK. When the App is connected to the internet and advertisements are requested or displayed, Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect, process, or receive certain information. Depending on your device, location, privacy settings and applicable law, this information may include: device or advertising identifiers; IP address and information that may be used to infer an approximate location; interactions with the App and advertisements; diagnostic and performance information; advertising-related information; and information used for analytics, security, fraud prevention and regulatory compliance. Google's current Mobile Ads SDK disclosure identifies data categories and uses associated with advertising, analytics and fraud-prevention functionality. IELTS-Self does not request precise GPS location for advertising purposes. Data processed directly by Google or its advertising partners is governed by their own privacy policies and data-handling practices. 4. Advertising Consent and Privacy Choices Where required by applicable privacy laws and Google advertising requirements, IELTS-Self may display a privacy or consent message before certain advertising-related processing takes place. For users in regions such as the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google provides consent-management mechanisms through its User Messaging Platform and certified consent-management system. Depending on your region and eligibility, you may be able to: consent to personalised advertising; decline certain advertising purposes; receive non-personalised or limited ads where applicable; and review or change your advertising privacy choices. Where required, IELTS-Self will provide an in-app option such as Manage ad privacy choices so that eligible users can review or change a previous consent decision. Google specifically requires an accessible consent-revocation mechanism for applicable users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. The availability and exact form of these choices may depend on your location, device, Google services and applicable law. 5. Information We Do Not Require IELTS-Self does not require you to create an account. The App does not require you to provide: your name; an IELTS candidate number; a postal address; a telephone number; a profile photograph; payment-card information; or login credentials for an IELTS-Self account. The App currently has no IELTS-Self user-account system or hosted study backend. 6. Approximate Location IELTS-Self itself does not request device location permission as part of its core learning functionality. However, third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob may use an IP address or related network information to infer a general or approximate location for purposes such as advertising, analytics, security, fraud prevention or compliance. This does not mean IELTS-Self receives or stores your precise GPS location. AdMob-related approximate-location disclosure is included in the App's planned Google Play Data safety declaration. 7. Notifications IELTS-Self may offer optional local study reminders. If you enable this feature, the App may request Android notification permission. Notifications are used for study reminders selected or enabled by the user. Granting notification permission is optional and can be changed at any time in your device settings. 8. Local Storage, Backup and Restore IELTS-Self may store study progress, settings, Writing work, Speaking recordings and other learning information locally on your device. The App may also allow you to create or restore backups of your study information. Backup and restore features are intended to give you control over your locally generated study data. You are responsible for protecting backup files that you choose to export, copy or store outside the App. We recommend keeping sensitive personal information out of Writing and Speaking practice unless it is necessary for your own study. 9. Data Retention and Deletion Information stored locally by IELTS-Self generally remains on your device until you: delete the relevant information through an available App function; clear the App's storage or data using Android settings; or uninstall the App. Speaking recordings and other locally maintained study information can be removed through available App controls or by clearing/uninstalling the App. Information independently processed by Google AdMob or another third-party service is subject to that provider's own retention, deletion and privacy practices. Because IELTS-Self does not provide a user account or hosted study-data service, there is no IELTS-Self online account or server-side study profile that you need to request us to delete. 10. Data Security We take reasonable steps within the design of the App to limit unnecessary collection and transmission of user study information. Core study data and Speaking recordings are designed to remain on the user's device rather than being automatically transmitted to an IELTS-Self study server. Internet communications made by third-party services such as the Google Mobile Ads SDK are handled according to those services' security practices. Google's current Play data disclosure for Mobile Ads states that applicable SDK data is transmitted using transport security mechanisms. No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. 11. Third-Party Services IELTS-Self may use third-party services necessary to provide specific functionality. The principal third-party service currently used for online data processing is: Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK — used to provide advertising and related advertising measurement, analytics, security and fraud-prevention functions. Google and advertising technology providers may process information independently under their respective privacy policies and legal obligations. The App's core educational content does not require an IELTS-Self cloud account or hosted study backend. 12. Children and Intended Audience IELTS-Self is an IELTS preparation and self-study application intended primarily for learners aged 16 years and older. The App is not designed primarily for young children. If the App's target audience or services change in a future release, this Privacy Policy and the relevant Google Play declarations will be updated accordingly. The current Play Console preparation plan targets the 16–17 and 18 and over age groups rather than child-directed age groups. 13. Your Privacy Choices Depending on the feature and your location, you may control your information by: denying or revoking microphone permission; denying or revoking notification permission; deleting local recordings or study information; clearing IELTS-Self application data; uninstalling the App; managing Android advertising/privacy settings; and using the App's advertising privacy-choice option where available. Some third-party privacy choices may also be managed through your Google or Android device settings. 14. International and Third-Party Processing Advertising services may operate infrastructure or use service providers in multiple countries. Therefore, information processed by Google or participating advertising providers may be processed outside the country in which you live, subject to their applicable privacy safeguards, contractual arrangements and legal obligations. IELTS-Self itself does not operate an online study backend for transmitting your locally stored vocabulary progress, Writing drafts or Speaking recordings. 15. Links and External Resources IELTS-Self may provide links to selected external educational or informational resources. If you choose to open an external website or service, that service operates independently of IELTS-Self and may have its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that you choose to visit. 16. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy when IELTS-Self features, third-party services, legal requirements or data-handling practices change. When the policy is updated, the Last updated date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes affecting how user information is handled may also be communicated through the App or store listing where appropriate. You should review this Privacy Policy periodically for changes. 17.
